Benges Cottage (pronounced Benji) is an eccentric, eclectic, comfortable, quirky, well equipped cottage full of character and charm!  It has bags of space for all the family and it feels so warm and welcoming.

Surrounded by woodland which opens up to a spectacular view over the Sussex Downs to the sea beyond. the whole area is an artists paradise with views and vistas around every corner. Bird watchers will love it too, as will any nature lover.

The house sleeps 6 adults and two older children

There are two double bedrooms - stylishly furnished with quality bed linen & towels

There is an attic bedroom approached by way of a spiral staircase which is suitable for up to two older children only.

The studio in the garden sleeps 2 on a sofa bed and a travel cot is available for infants.

Please note because of an un fenced pond the house is not suitable for toddlers.  Only suitable for older children 6+ or infants.

The garden studio - sleeps 2 on a really comfortable sofa bed, this room has an en-suite toilet & washbasin

Large well stocked garden with areas of meadow a beautiful natural pond, patio area and something gorgeous to look at at every turn!

You are welcome to bring your dog but please bear in mind the garden and pond are un- fenced,

Benges Cottage is filled with the collections and curios that have been gathered over a lifetime of traveling the world.  The house has stone floors, brick floors, original working shutters, interior cob walls, pretty windows, inglenook fireplace.  It is a wonderful place to relax and spend quality time with friends and family! An antidote to a working week in the city. We just know you will absolutely love it here!

Check in is 4pm and check out is before 10am.  If you would like an earlier/later check-in/out then please do get in touch and we will see what we can do.  However, if another guest is leaving/arriving the same day this is not always possible.

If an early/late check-in/out is vital then we advise you book the extra dates.  

Before your stay we will require a £200 Cleaning/Security bond. This is usually done by cheque which is held on file and is returned to you un-cashed at the end of your stay providing everything is in order.

30% deposit is due on booking - balance is to be paid 8 weeks before your stay. - no charges for card payments!

Local area

Nestled in a spectacular woodland setting close to the Goodwood Estate near Chichester. Perfect for all Goodwood events, Golf Course and Horse Racing.

Part of the South Downs National Park, Benges Cottage is perfect for exploring all the delights of West Sussex.

From bustling market towns and cities, quaint villages and jolly seaside towns, West Sussex is a wonderful place to explore.  

On the doorstep of the cottage there are woodland walks and trails and if you hop in the car you are in Chichester within 20 minutes where you will find lots to do including a cinema, restaurants, museum, shops, choice of supermarkets and the world famous Festival Theatre.  Arundel with its fairytale castle is only about 15 mins away and Portsmouth and Brighton are around 50 minutes away by car.

Chichester is on the mainline Southern Rail network, so you can easily get to London, Portsmouth, Southampton, Worthing, Brighton and to be honest, anywhere else you fancy by train (If you change at London Victoria)

There is a fabulous local pub just a couple of minutes drive away (or longer if you walk)
